Estimate how much hay, pellets, and veggies your guinea pig needs daily based on weight.

Guinea Pig Daily Diet Guide

Feeding your guinea pig correctly is essential for its health, digestion, and dental hygiene. They require a diet high in fiber, primarily from hay, with a moderate amount of pellets and fresh vegetables.

🍀 Hay (Timothy or Meadow):

Your guinea pig should eat hay equivalent to at least 10% of its body weight daily. Hay keeps their digestive system running and teeth trimmed.

🥕 Fresh Veggies:

Leafy greens like romaine lettuce, coriander, or bell pepper should be included daily — ideally 10% of their body weight.

🥣 Pellets:

Guinea pig-specific pellets should make up a smaller portion of their diet. About 2–3% of body weight daily is enough.

⚠️ Always avoid iceberg lettuce, sugary fruits in excess, and food high in calcium for adult guinea pigs. Fresh water must be available at all times.
